Dentists have specialist training and expertise to help you care for your teeth and mouth. They are able to provide a wide range of treatments and are able to prescribe certain medications, including pain killers and antibiotics, if they feel that this is necessary for the dental or mouth condition that you have.
The doctors and nurses at the practice are unable to provide advice about dental health nor prescribe medications, such as antibiotics for dental related problems. We do not have the specialist equipment necessary to examine your teeth nor do we have the expertise to do this.
Looking after your teeth will reduce the risk of you having problems. Caring for your teeth includes seeing your dentist for a regular check up – they will advise you how often to do this.
