Pharmacies

A pharmacy is not just a place to go to collect your prescribed medications, they can offer a great many other services.

Pharmacies can provide a wide range of services to help including stop smoking advice, sexual health services such as the morning after pill and the sale of pregnancy test kits.  Pharmacies can help advise you about a wide range of common health conditions, such as coughs and colds, aches and pains, cystitis and rashes.  They might be able to suggest over the counter medicines that might help you.  These medicines won’t be on prescription so you would need to pay for them.

Pharmacists are trained experts in the use of medicines and can provide you with advice about taking both prescribed and over the counter medications.  For patients taking regular medications most pharmacies offer a service to check how you are getting on with your medications and can provide you with help and advice.
